    1.0 SCOPE

    Defines the purpose of the manual:

    • For mechanical servicing, lubrication, inspection, and proof loading of Vac-U-Lift vacuum lifters

    • Includes a fill-in field for capacity in pounds


     2.0 SPECIAL EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

    • None. All procedures use standard maintenance tools and supplies


     3.0 INSTRUCTIONS

    The instructions are divided by vacuum pump status and provide step-by-step procedures to maintain safety and operational readiness:


     3.1 With Vacuum Pump “Off”:

    • Inspect seal rings, clean or replace as needed

    • Tighten nuts, bolts, clamps

    • Empty and clean glass jar vacuum filter


     3.2 With Vacuum Pump “On” (No Load):

    • Check airflow at pads using finger-test

    • Fill automatic oiler with DTE light oil

      • Run 3 minutes before replacing cap

      • Confirm nut is tight after fill

    • Check “Vac-Off” air cycle for each pad


     3.3 With Vacuum Pump “Off” (Cleaning Phase):

    • Wash down full Vac-U-Lift unit

    • Clean muffler, exhaust, and intake filters with Inhibisol or equal

    • Clean sintered bronze filter (inside glass jar) and air-blow from inside outward

    • Lubricate all moving parts using DTE Medium oil


     3.4 With Vacuum Pump “On” (No Load):

    • Visual inspection of unit’s operating condition


     3.5 With Vacuum Lifter “On” (Under Load):

    • Inspect gauges and lights to match operating tag:

      • Check vacuum buildup speed

      • Check vacuum steadiness

    • Lift load per procedure

    • Inspect for noise, leaks, overheating, and vibration

    • Check vacuum reserve hold:

      • Vacuum drop should not exceed 3 inches in 15 minutes

    • Test Vac-Off:

      • Lower load

      • Press “Vac-Off” — load should release immediately
